Lori Lightfoot - FRC

We brought the
light to Chicago.

CHALLENGE

In 2018, the embattled Mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel announced he was stepping down. With Chicago’s fate on the line and for the first time in Chicago’s history, two black women were squaring off to rewrite the political game in a grossly divided city.

We Found Truth

With only three weeks left in the campaign cycle before the ballots closed, the Lightfoot campaign was seeking a final boost in critical voter turnout among the group that was going to send her to victory – African American urban voters.

RLM Media and FRC were called to create and launch a full-scale radio turn-out-the vote campaign and history as we know it was rewritten in Chicago.

Then We Executed

  • In a matter of hours, we had 7 scripts drafted and reviewed with the Lori Lightfoot campaign while also securing a 350+ spot radio media buy.
  • We launched a blanketed radio campaign with over 350+ spots in 3 weeks garnering a 92% reach of AA voters 35+.
  • Our moving creative and tight media plan helped send Lori Lightfoot to a sweeping 74% victory over her campaign opponent.
